About the Story

The Vampire’s Daughter is a blog story (should that be slog or, maybe, fiction blog?) about a young girl taken in by the vampire that kills her mother. I wrote the first “book” of this story at Blog-City.com, and am now using blogspot. The completed books of the series can be purchased here. Note that Book One will remain free, while all of the subsequent Books will be free only until they are compiled for publication.

Although I have taken many sabbaticals, when I am actively updating I attempt to add a new “chapter” at least once a week. Wednesday is the day of choice right now. I normally keep to that schedule for a while, then take some time off and then come back. However, the ability to prepost pages has allowed me to keep to this schedule more regularly than in the past, so the sabbaticals might be a thing of the past.

I use Facebook as a means of communicating with readers instead of a message board (which was my original attempt at reader communication). All new chapters post to The Vampires Daughter Facebook page as well as to this site. Although there is a mailing you can join via the mailing list box on the left hand side of every page, I'm likely to stick with the Facebook method of communication. For those who use RSS, there is also an RSS link available on every page.

About the Author
There really wasn’t anything in particular that led me to write this story, it just sort of stuck in my head one day. So I started to write. And write. And write. The writing keeps me from going crazy at work, where I write and edit for a living, but in a rather dry, business style. It's not that I don't fully enjoy my work, it just lacks the kind of creativity that my mind craves. I guess I'm something of a daydreamer by nature.

I don’t know if I’m any good, but I like to write and some other people seem to think it’s worth reading. (I have to thank everyone who gives me good feedback, because it helps keep me going and brings me back when I've checked out on a sabbatical for some reason.)

Although I don't wish to give a fully detailed description of myself, here is a quick snapshot. I'm a married adult male with a wonderful child (and a wonderful wife, by the way). I am currently employed as a manager at a financial publishing company and I enjoy my job. My other hobbies include running (nice and easy four hour marathons are the preference) and guitar (I'm a rock star in my living room, honest!). I read a lot, but mostly business oriented magazines, newspapers, and the stuff I edit at work (which is a shame, as I'd like to have more time to read the nautical fiction I enjoy so much). I don't know where a story about a vampire that takes in the daughter of one of his victims comes in to play, but it does.

If there are any questions out there, please feel free to send them to me via a comment, the message board thingy on the page, or via email to thevampiresdaughter at gmail dot com.

This is a list of other sites that I write and/or maintain:
Vampire Related Links:
The Vampire's Daughter
This is my vampire story blog and the site you are currently at. It is about a vampire that kills a woman and, essentially, adopts her child.

The Vampire's Daughter Facebook page
The Vampire's Daughter Myspace page
These are my two social media sites. I use Facebook much more and have it set so that my posts to The Vampire's Daughter blog also post to the Facebook page.

The Vampire's Daughter Bookstore
This is a Lulu.com store where I sell copies of The Vampire's Daughter books in both digital and hard copy form.

Bram Stoker's Dracula
Bram Stoker's classic work is off copyright. I've taken it and put it online. If you like vampire stories, this is one you should read (if you haven't already).

Bela Lugosi
This is another site of mine that reviews poor Bela Lugosi's life. He was a great vampire actor, if not a great actor. You should take a moment to read about his life, it's both sad and interesting (not to mention a quick read).

Other Stuff:
The Dream Dictionary
This is another off copyright text that I've put up on the web via a blog. As the title suggests, it is a dream dictionary. Very interesting if you want to know what your dreams are all about! I get more hits for this site then for The Vampire's Daughter... I'm not sure if I'm sad about that or not.

Thanks,
Reuben Gregg

Good on ya' Good luck with the writing. Serial writting is a lot of fun but it is also real taxing.
